Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of BenchLedger at https://benchledger.app, a tool and workshop inventory service operated by its owner/admin. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. Please also read the Privacy Policy linked below.

Your account and responsible use

Use a Google account you are authorized to control and protect its access. Do not attempt to access another person's private data, bypass permissions or rate limits, exploit the service, upload malware or unlawful content, or deliberately exhaust storage or other resources. Do not use BenchLedger to harass people or infringe their rights.

V1 limits attachments to 1 GiB per account across garages, 12 attachments per item, 10 MiB per photo and 20 MiB per receipt. Pending deletions can still count toward the account limit. Request rate limits also apply. These controls protect the service; they do not guarantee that every request or upload will succeed.

Your content

You retain your rights in the inventory information, photos and receipts you provide. You give BenchLedger permission to store, process and deliver that content as needed to operate the features you use, including displaying the limited shared inventory when you choose sharing. You are responsible for having permission to upload the content and for choosing what to share. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive information or another person's private documents.

Sharing

Garages start PRIVATE. UNLISTED sharing lets anyone with the link view the limited shared inventory; PUBLIC sharing makes that view publicly accessible. Shared fields include item names, brands, models, categories and quantities. Photos and receipts remain private to the signed-in owner and are not part of either shared view. Purchase details, serial numbers and private notes are excluded. Take care with names or other fields that are included.

Returning a garage to PRIVATE stops anonymous access through the service, but cannot withdraw copies made by other people. An unlisted link is not a confidentiality guarantee.

Catalog and information accuracy

Catalog entries, compatibility information and your own inventory records can be incomplete, out of date or incorrect. Check manufacturer instructions and other reliable sources before purchasing, operating or combining equipment. BenchLedger is an organizational aid, not a manufacturer endorsement, safety certification, valuation or proof of ownership.

Availability and recovery

BenchLedger is an early service. Features may change and maintenance, provider outages or errors can interrupt access. There is no uptime or data-recovery guarantee. Keep independent copies of important records, receipts and photos. Database recovery currently relies on Cloudflare D1 Time Travel; independent encrypted off-provider backups remain DEGRADED/DEFERRED. Attachments have no verified point-in-time recovery or undelete guarantee.

V1 does not offer self-service account deletion. You can remove supported inventory records and contact the owner/admin for a manually reviewed account-deletion request. Signing out does not delete your data.

Abuse and suspension

The owner/admin may restrict access or suspend use when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, unlawful content or risks to service availability. Where practical, contact may be offered to resolve the problem; urgent protective action may come first. Contact the owner/admin if you believe a restriction was mistaken.

Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without promises of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy or suitability for a particular purpose. You are responsible for decisions made using its information and for keeping copies of important data. To the extent permitted by law, the owner/admin is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.
